Building on Anguilla

There's a lot of construction going on right now on Anguilla. Temenos opened their golf course and St. Regis are in the process of building a hotel, estate homes and condo's on Merrywing Bay. The Viceroy Estates, also hotel, estate homes and condo's are being constructed on the beach at Meads Bay around the corner onto Barnes Bay. Fairmont will soon start construction on a golf course and also hotel, condos, and estate homes. The Rendezvous Bay Hotel on beautiful Rendezvous Bay will close in Oct 2007 for two years. They will be building beach front estate homes, townhomes, condos and a hotel. The Cuisinart Resort & Spa will be building estate homes on property adjacent to their current location. A resort and spa is being built on Shoal Bay East behind Maderiman.

Lovely little Anguilla is growing up. Along with all these huge construction projects going on you'll find scattered throughout the island smaller groups of estate homes being built. It will soon be hard to find a beach, or an area without construction.

One can only hope that the government really has a handle on what's going on. The locals that we talked to recently all seemed to be pleased about what's going on. Hopefully they will be the ones who benefit. Time will tell.
