Anguilla Rentals

There certainly isn't a shortage of rental accommodations on Anguilla. Accommodations seem to more expensive and luxurious then every and lookin around it seems to be all that's being built nowadays. However, there are still plenty of reasonable accommodations to be found on Anguilla. Paradise Cove and Royal Palms Apartments are just two examples. Modern, both with pools, but not on the beach. But remember, Anguilla is only 16 x3 miles so no matter where you stay you're never far from a beach. If you want to be on the beach consider Serenity, Allamanda or Ku on Shoal Bay East. Carimar Beach Club on Mead's Bay is another fine accommodation on the beach that's reasonably priced.

Viceroy Workers Stage Protest

Anguilla received some unwanted press in the end of June when 200 migrant workers protested their treatment by the Viceroy Resorts and Residences and Carillion Construction (West Indies) Ltd (the contractor for the Viceroy project) for whom they are working. They protested they are being only paid 1/2 of the amount they were told they would receive and complained about poor living, food and health conditions. Anguillians lined up and marched with these Indian workers in a sign of solidarity. Unfortunately initial talks broke down.

Afer the Indian workers protested and staged a march the second time the Carillion Construction (West Indies) Ltd agreed to the pay increases.
